BIGKeighley Day On Sunday 16th March 2008 the Keighley “BIGK” 10K, held in aid of Manorlands, was a great sporting day for the whole family. Entrants could either run the whole 10K, including a circuit around Lund Park, or the one mile circuit of three times around the park. The young and old, the fit and the not so fit all entered into the sprit of the day and had fun while raising money for charity.

The land for Lund Park was given to Keighley Corporation in 1888 by James Lund DL of Malsis Hall, a large landowner and native of the town. William Lund, James's father, owned mills which at their height had employed over 1000 people. Lund’s gift of c 6.1 ha of land, together with £6000 for laying out the park, was accepted in preference to a first offer to sell his estate of c 22.3 ha at Knowle Park. |
